The Archaeology Division's
primary function is to manage the SAR archaeological repository and oversee security and
access at the Arroyo Hondo Pueblo archaeological site. The repository includes archival
and artifactual collections maintained in perpetuity from the Arroyo Hondo project, and
archival material derived from fieldwork conducted by the School at the Grand Canyon, and
other sites studied under contract. The division encourages further advanced research in
the pre-contact period of the Southwest through a yearly grant program, which supports
outstanding projects involving the use of the Arroyo Hondo resources. Staff is committed
to providing services to advanced researchers by maintaining the highest quality
facilities and assistance.
