Ethnographic Materials
A number of miscellaneous ethnographic
objects enrich the collection, such as a significant number of Zuni and Hopi kachina
dolls; Pueblo dance tablitas; musical instruments such as drums, flutes, rattles, and
rasps; moccasins and other garments; cradle boards; various objects used for weaving,
cooking and hunting; and archival materials on the history of the collection from the
1920s to the present.
The material culture of the Apache tribes, the Ute, the southern Plains Indian tribes of
the Kiowa, Comanche, Southern Arapaho, and Southern Cheyenne are also well represented in
the collection.
