Research for this doctoral dissertation includes visits to art galleries, art

the kachina collections at SAR's Indian Arts Research Center.

History and Discourse of Indian Captivity and Slavery"
In this dissertation, indigenous slavery, in which thousands of American Indian
captives were incorporated into Spanish/Mexican households, is examined as
a contest of stories and memories.
